Introduction

This degree prepares the student for a career in general construction, heavy/highway/utility construction, building construction, mechanical and electrical contracting, specialty contracting and consulting.  This degree also provides education and training for future careers in the construction industry as general contractor, construction executive, project manager, estimator, expediter, and other supervisory and managerial positions required to complete construction projects on time, on budget and of the desired quality.  This option is not presently accredited by TAC of ABET.

Prerequisites

Students who transfer to the junior year of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology program, specializing in Construction Management Technology, are expected to have completed their freshman and sophomore years at a community college or other institution with 64 hours of transferable credits.

They should have successfully completed most of the following courses or their equivalents:

  • Mathematics (9 credits) including Calculus, Algebra and Trigonometry
  • Science (8 credits): Physics I and II or Chemistry I and II
  • Computer Programming or Applications (1 credit)
  • English (6 credits)
  • Business / Management / Economics / History (6 credits)
  • Physical Education (1 credits)

  • Engineering Graphics / CAD (6 credits)

Construction

  • Surveying (3 credits)
  • Other related courses (6 credits)
