The FIG Foundation is providing 8 fellowships for young surveyors to attend and participate in the 2013 FIG Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Fellowships will be distributed by region- one each to Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania and South America. The remaining two fellowships will be awarded exclusively to nationals of developing countries.

The application process will be Sept – November 2013. Interviews for qualified candidates will be conducted in early 2014 and positions awarded shortly thereafter. The position would start after graduation – or around May/June of 2014.
This would be a great opportunity for a graduating senior to pursue a career in surveying. The Engineering Associates program is an unique experience for a surveyor to be exposed to the various aspects of engineering and construction management in the transportation sector. The first year entails a rotation period in which the surveyor works at various facilities and under different engineering and construction management disciplines.
After the rotation is complete the surveyor will work in the Central Survey Group, either at the Tech Center in Jersey City or assigned to one of our facilities. The Central Survey Group is in the Engineering Department’s Construction Management Division and is responsible for various types of surveying throughout all of the PANYNJ facilities (Aviation, Ports, Tunnels Bridges & Terminals, PATH Rail). The types of surveys the Central Survey Group performs include; construction monitoring surveys, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, photogrammetric surveys and hydrographic surveys. Current technology is used to perform these surveys, including; CAD workstations & AutoCAD Civil 3d Software, Leica C10 & HDS7000 Laser Scanners with Cyclone Software, RTK-Network GPS and Robotic Total Stations.
Wanted part time land surveyor for engineering/surveying/planning firm located in Cranford, New Jersey. Position is not temporary, we are seeking a part time employee with hopefully full time employment in the future upon graduation. The position is within the Land Surveying Department and would include downloading field data collectors, compiling the information into survey base maps and drafting the final survey plats.
